Summary of Beliefs

We believe

Our Source is Love and exists without form;

Love has One Creation which is the extension of Itself and like Itself. This One Creation, the One Child, is also without form and has all power to create and extend as does Love;

Through A Course in Miracles we are brought a message of our Oneness and of the Love of our Source, for Its One Creation. It shares with us the Will of our Source that we remember our Oneness and accept Oneness as the Way, the Truth and the Life;

A Course in Miracles teaches a unified thought system in which nothing is lacking that is needed and nothing is included which is contradictory or irrelevant;

We are called to recognize and follow an Eternal Voice, the Spirit of Love within us, which is the part of our mind that remains aware of our Oneness and remains connected to our Creator;

This Eternal Voice remains within each of us always ready to help each mind become an altar to our Source, making us the foundation of Love’s church because we believe a church is where an altar is, and the presence of an altar is what makes it a church;

By electing to come together under the guidance of A Course in Miracles and the Spirit of Love, it is our Will to heal the Mind of the One Child and bring peace to the world.

Meet Our Board

Deborah Goro

Deborah is a skilled Reiki and Esoteric healer and a long-time, dedicated student of ACIM. A former Parent-to-Parent trainer, she has long dedicated herself to helping others. Through her company, Healing Pathways, she shares love and light with her community, Her wisdom and support were instrumental in creating The Door to Peace as a means of bringing the Universal Edition to life.

Dr. Tom Garcia

Dr.Tom is a Shamanic healer and spiritual guide for those walking the path of deep personal transformation. As a decades-long student of ACIM, Tom uses the Course every day in his work, from his decades as a chiropractor to his calling as a shaman specializing in the ceremonial use of healing fires and plant medicine. Tom guides and supports others in experiencing profound states of insight, healing and spiritual awakening.https://reclaimthesacred.com

Deborah Canja

Deb serves as the Executive Minister of The Door to Peace. As an attorney, she represented the people of the State of Michigan for many years as an Assistant Attorney General. As a coach she helps entrepreneurs reach goals faster and more effectively. She is also the founder and CEO of Bridges4Kids, a non-profit providing parents with information to help their children with special needs and disabilities. As a 30+ year student of ACIM, she leads lesson and study groups and is the editor of the new Universal Edition of the ACIM Workbook. Ordained in 2022 she is a regular contributor to the Community Miracles Center’s weekly e-zine, Miracles Weekly, and organized and served as a co-emcee of the CMC’s ACIM Global Virtual Conference “Unblock, Unlock and Rock.”

Lee Porter

Lee has a deep connection and commitment to children and with a Masters of Social Work and a degree in education, he has held several roles in public education including principal of an alternative high school, assistant principal of a middle school, and student support specialist in a Montessori elementary school. Today, as a district-wide, student support specialist, he is dispatched to schools needing the most help, and provides mentoring and guidance to administrators and teaching staff (and hugs and support to kids – especially those with special needs).  As a long-time student of A Course in Miracles, he relies on its teachings to bring calm to chaos, order to turmoil, and humor to everything.
